Ayangue is a Family oriented tourist town that caters specially to families who stay there for the weekend or season unlike Montanita a party town. Its a cove known to the Americans as Lobster Bay for its abundance of lobsters. There is whale watching and snorkeling. They have the Popular "Cristo del agua" (Christ of the water) submerged in the water so that snorkelers touch it and and ask for blessings. Great as a vacation spot. FYI: These properties are 'Comuna Land", which were only allowed to be sold by "Comuneros" to Comuneros, friends, family or neighbors. Are now allowed to be sold to foreigners or non Comuneros, being that Ecuador has Duo Citizenship it would not make sense to not allow these families who have inherited so much Comuna land to sell it when they don't have the means of developing it as residential or commercial so as to just sit on it for who knows how long.
