Descrição da Propriedade

Reserva las Tangaras is a charming, rustic, rural property with ecotourism potential due to its location near the popular town of Mindo, Ecuador. The current owners are now elderly and feel they are no longer capable of caring for this phenomenal gem of a property. They purchased. the property to protect its natural wonders. The house is a two-story, 1200 sq feet (112 sq m), heavily varnished wooden Ecuadorian mountain chalet that was built in 2005. It has a new roof (September 2023). It has a gravity-feed spring water system with on-demand water heating. A gas stove/oven is available for cooking and a basic solar panel system provides lighting and charging. The house has an open floor plan with kitchen, dining, and living areas on the first floor. A large front balcony overlooks the Nambillo River and forested land. A large back balcony has storage cabinets and views of a spacious yard and forest behind the house. The upstairs has a large undivided floor plan with open viewing windows. The large room may be flexibly filled by guests or family. A second, small private, fully enclosed room is also on the upper story. There is a modern bathroom on the first floor, and an additional modern second bathroom attached to the exterior of the home for campers. There is an 8 x 8 m camping shelter in the forest behind the house. The 51-hectare tropical montane forest reserve ranges from 1200 to 1500 m in elevation, is mainly forested, and has extensive frontage on Rio Nambillo. The forest is home to over 300 species of birds, many mammals including several endangered species, and many endemic amphibians and reptiles. The reserve boasts remarkable orchids, bromeliads, and a high diversity of trees and other plant species. It is a nature lover's paradise. The region's oldest and largest Andean Cock-of-the-Rock lek is an attraction for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts. The property is bounded by the Rio Nambio to the north, two mountain streams on east and west, and the Mindo-Nambillo Bosque Protector (Forest Protection Area) on the southern and upland boundary. There are more than 15 Km of established hiking trails on the property. A small orchard with fruit trees covers about 0.5 hectares near the house. The cabin is located on a flat and grassy area overlooking the Nambillo River. A long driveway from the main Mindo-Nambillo road provides access to the Reserva las Tangaras property. One must cross a sturdy cable bridge on foot to access the cabin and trails.
